Fricken Flu

Name
Fricken Flu

Analogue Name
Avian Flu

Race Affected
Fricken, Humans, Elves

Symptoms and Complications
The flu causes fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, and viral pneumonia. Secondary infections are common.

Causative Organism/Source
Viruses that infect a Fricken. The Fricken has evolved to become fairly resistant to the disease, but easily spreads the virus to others

Method of Infection
Airborne. Being near a fricken or infected person increases the chance of infection.

Prevention/Treatment
To prevent, stay away from Fricken or other infected people. There is no way to cure it, but the effects can be lessened by the use of strong-smelling things such as Jhallan peppers. Folklore says that eating fresh Reaper stew helps cure the disease, though this doesn't work. False rumors also say that holding a mage's tooth helps, though this was spread in part by the inquisition to get support for harming mages. The best way to treat it is by having clean food, remaining hydrated, and resting well. It usually lasts 3-4 weeks.
