I have added a website directory at http://www.desertrealm.com/directory to replace the Featured Links section of the website. The Featured Links idea was a good one, but I couldn't keep up with the amount of work it inherently produced. To accurately rate each website, I spent over 30 minutes on each one. This quickly became too much work and I couldn't keep up.

The new directory allows you to add and edit your own webpages (you can add many different ones) and optionally link back to your own fantasy and science fiction websites. You can add a logo or picture that represents the content and website that you're linking to.

There are also several scoring metrics in place that allows you to see which pages and sites are the most popular.

Anybody viewing any of the content pages can leave a comment about the website to further enhance the visitor's experience.

Pages do not appear automatically. I, and soon a small group of people, will read the descriptions and view the uploaded image to make sure that it is viewable by all ages and that it is scifi and fantasy related.

The outbound links to websites are standard ones, which means that you'll earn more backlinks and Google PageRank - both are very important if you're trying to rank well in the search engines.

This site is devoted to direct a lot of traffic to your website. Not only can you create multiple pages pointing to your website (as long as each page links to a different one), you control the page content to ensure that the link is considered on target with your website, which is another important factor when search engines determine relevancy in their results.

To add pages, you will need to register an account on the forum at: http://www.desertrealm.com/forum/index.php?act=Reg&CODE=00

Once registered, go to the admin section of the directory and begin adding and uploading your pages. The admin page is at: http://www.desertrealm.com/directory/admin.php
